Baptisms and Confirmations

Whatever the stage of life’s journey, your local churches are here to support you. Both St Peter’s and St Augustine’s are available for baptisms (christenings) and for those who wish to be confirmed the Benefice holds confirmation classes from time to time.

Before you read any further, it is important to confirm whether you live in St Peter’s parish, St Augustine’s parish, or another parish. You can find out by entering your address at https://www.achurchnearyou.com.

Baptism

Baptisms (christenings) mark the beginning of the Christian journey and can take place at any age. To be eligible for baptism in one of our churches, you must either live in the parish or attend for at least six months.

Confirmations

Confirmation is an opportunity for those who were baptised as children to declare their faith for themselves. We offer confirmation classes for adults and children (aged 10+).
