The Friends of St Peter’s Church Croydon

St. Peter’s Church was built by the famous Sir George Gilbert Scott and was consecrated in 1851. For 150 years it has served as a spiritual focal point to the people of South Croydon standing as it does on high ground with a spire that dominates the skyline.

At this present time we are having to raise large sums of  money to pay for urgent work for disabled access provision and toilets, rebuilding of clergy vestry, and work on the church organ.

Aims

  • To preserve St Peter’s Church for future generations

  • To enhance and further develop the facilities at St Peter’s Church

  • To encourage the broadest connection between St Peter’s Church and the wider community of South Croydon

  • To raise the profile of St Peter’s Church within the parish, diocese and country

We are all responsible for preserving this beautiful Grade 2 listed building which stands in a prominent position on a hill overlooking South Croydon for future generations to enjoy, and regard as their spiritual home. In this regard there is urgent work that is necessary:
  • Repairs to the Clergy Vestry

  • Access for the disabled

  • Upgrading toilet facilities

  • Churchyard parking

  • Interior redecoration

  • Organ

  • Lighting to churchyard paths

  • Interior Lighting
